Emma Raducanu concludes this year's campaign and plans to retain coach through next year.

Emma Raducanu in action during a tennis match

Raducanu advanced to round three in three Grand Slam tournaments major tournaments during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in her final two events in 2025 because of a medical condition that has affected her in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to recover prior to beginning next year's training.

These plans will include trainer Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring while playing the initial match versus Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at the Ningbo Open this week, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

Her movement was with clear difficulty in the third set in the match with Zhu because of a lower back issue that has affected her at times this year.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points then was defeated by Pegula in the third round in Beijing last month.

She secured twenty-eight matches this year and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.

As Britain's top player advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way before losing in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

Raducanu told that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three before being beaten by Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
