The winter transfer window is always a time of intense rumour and possible major deals. Numerous notable footballers find themselves linked with moves out of their present clubs. Here is a look at some of the major figures who could be on the move this month.

A. Semenyo

Despite the Black Stars' inability to qualify for the AFCON, this has left the forward available, it appears an important move is imminent. The 25-year-old possesses a contract featuring a substantial release clause applicable for a brief window at the start of the month. Recent developments point to Manchester City have emerged as his services. Other suitors such as Tottenham and Chelsea are said to have moved on to alternative options, leaving teams such as Liverpool or Manchester United to make a late move.

M. Guéhi

The England centre-back has continued to impress for Palace despite a summer move to Anfield falling through. With his contract set to expire in the summer, January is the club's last opportunity to obtain a transfer fee for their captain. Numerous elite clubs, including Manchester City and several continental powerhouses like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, reportedly hold an interest. Yet, a January exit is considered difficult, particularly given the manager's dependence on the defender.

Brennan Johnson

The Welsh winger has found starting opportunities limited at Spurs this campaign. Although finishing as the side's leading goalscorer last season, he has started only a handful of Premier League matches. Reports suggest the London club would be open to a sale for the correct price, thought to be in the region of £40 million. Bournemouth are currently leading the chase, with Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and Brentford also credited with an interest.

Tottenham rate the Welsh international at approximately forty million pounds.

Rúben Neves

This Portugal playmaker could be set for a return to the Premier League after a spell in the Saudi Pro League. Still just 28, and with his agreement ending in the summer of 2026, he represents a possible opportunity. Teams like Liverpool and Manchester United are connected to the player. Additionally, there have been suggestions from Spain that he would be willing to accept a pay cut for a move to Real Madrid.

M. ter Stegen

This veteran Germany goalkeeper is now as third-choice at Barcelona following the manager Flick. After lost his place and had surgery, a winter departure looks increasingly probable. Villa were initially linked as a potential suitor, but that option now appears off. Instead, clubs from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are reportedly showing curiosity in the 33-year-old.

The teenager is heavily tipped to complete a big-money transfer in January.
